Sargon Boulus




Sargon Boulus was born in Iraq in 1943. In 1956, his family moved to Kirkuk where he began his literary work as a poet and translator of English language poetry. After some years in Baghdad, he finally left Iraq in 1967. He started publishing poetry and short stories contributing to magazine of Yousef Al-Khal and Adonis in Beirut. Further stations were Paris, London and San Francisco where he is living now. Besides writing poems and short stories, Sargon is well known as an accomplished translator into English. He has already translated poems of such authors as Ezra Pound, W. S Shakespeare, Allen Ginsberg, Sylvia Plath, Robert Duncan and many other poets including Rilke, Neruda, Vasko Popa and Ho Chi Min.
